Hatton Vale

Discover Lockyer Valley

When you think of Hatton Vale, do you immediately think of low set houses scattered through several residential estates, or do you think of the Apostolic Church?

If you answered Apostolic Church, you can thank Friederich Niemeyer, the evangelic apostle worked to make Hatton Vale an important centre for his church.

Hatton Vale was made the headquarters of the Apostolic Church of Queensland and, in 1950, it built its cathedral there.

Currently, the Southern district of the Apostolic Church of Queensland comprises 11 congregations that are administered from Hatton Vale.

Hatton Vale Church

Hatton Vale is more than just one church, however.

Nestled between Minden and Plainland, Hatton Vale’s residential development offers affordable housing within commuting distance of several employment centres, including Ipswich and Brisbane.

In collaboration with Lockyer Valley Regional Council, State Government and QM Properties, the new 14 ha recreational park is designed to be a destination park for the growing region.

Vibrant talking tubes and sensory light lines the pathways, providing rich sensory experiences for sounds and sight, while plants provide a sensory smell experience. Wind chimes blow in the breeze creating a whimsical sound as children explore the connected pathways and enjoy being immersed in nature.
